Why I Started Writing:
I started out wanting to draw comics. And although I was okay with a pencil and pen, I wasn't good enough (even to my not-so-picky 7th grader's eye). So I went the other comics-route: writing. I wrote my first short story when I was 14 and still have the rejection letter 23 years later. I wrote my first novel when I was 18 and that, thankfully, had been lost.
I started writing because I like to tells stories. I always have, from as far back as I can remember. Writing gave be a place to dump out the ideas and sketches in my head that a drawing pad would not properly translate.
Authors Who Have Influenced Me:
I grew up on Stephen King. I read everything I could get my hands on...and I blame his earlier works for REALLY making me want to be a writer. Later in life I discovered Neil Gaiman, Kurt Vonnegut and Cormac MacCarthy ... a weird assortment for sure ...
Books I Have Written:
The Bleeding Room
Break Every Chain
The Masks of Our Fathers
Buried (a mobile game)
A Mouth for Picket Fences (poetry)
Broken Nightlights (collected short fiction)
countless ghostwriting projects
What I'm Working On Now:
The next book in my Cooper M. Reid series
An untitled cosmic horror novel
A Middle Grade series
A series of apocalyptic novels under a pen name for a small press
