Why I Started Writing:
When my church youth group decided they wanted to perform a play, I was asked to write a sketch about Moses and the tribes of Israel. As a result, my love for writing began. Over time, I wrote stories for my children and their friends, but never thought of publishing them.
Authors Who Have Influenced Me:
One of my favorite authors is Eva Marie Everson. I love how she is able to weave stories so the readers become involved.
Another favorite author is J. K. Rowling. The Harry Potter series about good versus evil reminds me of God’s grace towards his people.
Any book by Debbie Macomber or any Cozy Mystery series’ author reminds me that as a writer, I don’t have to “tell” or “show” everything. Sometimes it’s best to let the reader imagine what happens next.
Books I Have Written:
I’ve written, but not published, several picture books including: Mr. Wiggles Lost His Wiggle, Tree, The Substitute Easter Bunny, A Walk with God, Who Wants Basil?, Peek-a-Boo, Wasn’t Me, Tinsel, and The ABC Book.
I’ve written, but not published, two Science Fiction short stories: "Flash" and "The Obelisk."
What I'm Working On Now:
Currently, I am working on several Middle Grade Books—Decisions, Faces, and Mom’s Dead.
Jeanne Mansfield and I are coauthoring another Early Chapter Reader titled: I See With My Ears, which will include many of the characters from our first book, I Talk With My Hands.
