Why I Started Writing:

I started writing because I had stories to tell. I would notice a situation and the words to describe it, usually in a funny way, would appear in my mind. I wanted to share those thoughts, to make people laugh, smile, to brighten their day. Being a high school teacher brought me plenty of good material to use. I laughed at my job every day.

Authors Who Have Influenced Me:

I love reading many different genres. Stephen King was my favorite horror writer. Laveryl Spencer won the title for romance. Dick Francis took honors for mysteries. Frank Herbert wrote the best science fiction. Jan Karon was my first introduction to Christian fiction. Barbara Kingsolver held me spellbound with women’s fiction. Lee Child kept me hooked with thrillers. I started reading YA as an adult, and it was a tie between J.K. Rowling and Suzanne Collins. Sarah Bird kept me laughing. I have read so much of all of them, I’m sure flavors from each author spice my own writing. I’ve absorbed style and technique from each one.

Books I Have Written:

My first novel is Protected. It is the first in the San Antone Series. Also, I will have novellas self-published in two different Christmas anthologies coming out in the fall of 2021.

What I'm Working On Now:

Book Two in the San Antone series is Accepted (Jonathan’s story). I’m doing the research now and hope to start writing very soon.
