Why I Started Writing:
It’s hard to say why I started writing, but I kept going because I simply had to write. It was always an outlet and a way for me to express myself. I felt inspired by other stories and pretty much always knew I wanted to create my own.
Authors Who Have Influenced Me:
I love L.M. Montgomery’s ability to find the quirky in everyday life and people. (I also love her for Gilbert Blythe!) I love C.S. Lewis for sharing truth in a way so profound that it’s still beloved so many years later. I love how Jane Austen wrote romance novels that were so much more than boy meets girl. For modern-day authors, I love Becky Dean’s fun and wholesome YA romance that makes me laugh and swoon. I also love and admire the way Nicole Deese and Courtney Walsh incorporate faith seamlessly into their stories and how they have depth without feeling too heavy.
Books I Have Written:
Love, Sax, & All That Jazz is my debut. It’s a young adult contemporary romance about two saxophonists who are rivals in their high school band, vying for first chair and the same full-ride scholarship to their dream music school.
What I'm Working On Now:
I always have multiple projects in the works. Currently, I am focused on a couple of other YA contemporary projects, as well as an adult Christian contemporary story based on a side character from Jane Austen’s Emma.
