Why I Started Writing:

I’ve always loved words and writing. Once I started homeschooling my disabled child, I discovered the encouragement I needed from people who wrote years before I was born. In several cases, the authors had merely penned a note in their diary or recorded personal information without realizing the future impact. Those experiences led me to ponder the power of writing, and I chose to learn the craft so I could offer uplifting truths.

Authors Who Have Influenced Me:

I’ve always been a fan of cozy mysteries. Mother had to drag me away from reading to do household chores. Agatha Christie, Sherlock Holmes, and Dorothy Sayers top my list of favorite authors. As an adult I’ve enjoyed C.S. Lewis, Francis Schaeffer, Josh McDowell, Gary Habermas, William Lane Craig, and Lee Strobel. Plus, I thrive on first-hand historical information.

Sandra Byrd, Cec Murphey, Fay Lamb, Jennifer Slattery, and Athena Dean Holtz have all helped me develop my voice and writing style.

Books I Have Written:

I self-published my first books. Struggles and Triumphs is about women from the past. Struggles and Triumphs Study Guide uses those stories as the basis for Bible study. Women who Overcame is a reprint of my first book and includes the story of my husband’s illness.

What I'm Working On Now:

I have outlined a sequel to Pursuing Gold, and I’m working on a biographical fiction about Susannah Spurgeon. In addition, I’m planning a Bible study on women and mothering.
