Why I Started Writing:
I’ve been writing since I could read—poems, songs, short stories, plays, and lots of research papers. But I never attempted a novel until ten years ago, when I was moved by a film about a character who died misunderstood and unloved. I wanted to write a redemption story for a similar character, showcasing God’s grace and packaged in a touching romance. So I did!
Authors Who Have Influenced Me:
C.S. Lewis will always be my favorite writer, for both his fiction and nonfiction. But because I write the former, here’s a short list of novelists who have impacted me over the years: Enid Blyton, Louisa May Alcott, Jane Austen, L.M. Montgomery, J.R.R. Tolkien, Sharon Kay Penman, Francine Rivers, and Mel Starr.
Books I Have Written:
The Soul of a Stranger is a Regency romance set in 1810. It features dissolute William Devreux, Earl of Hartwell, who discovers God’s forgiveness through his relationship with Charissa Armitage, a woman whose views of faith and love challenge his own.
What I'm Working On Now:
Of Gentlemen and Heroes is a historical romance in which dashed expectations challenge characters to forgive one another and trust God no matter what. The story follows young heiress Mariah Weston, who loses her heart to the charismatic sea captain Adam de Wynter. However, her social equal, baronet Sir Felix Tyrrell, already considers her his marital prize. Against all the 1750’s social norms, can Mariah and Adam overcome every obstacle to at last find true love?
