Why I Started Writing:

A true story is innately powerful because God wrote it. As I approach the end of God’s story about me, I yearn to show others the wonders of knowing and being loved by Him through the tragedies and triumphs of life. Others’ stories changed the course of my life. Maybe reading mine will change the trajectory of another’s. I believe God’s purpose for me in living this tumultuous story is sharing it with others for His glory and our good.

Authors Who Have Influenced Me:

Louisa May Alcott told of family I longed for.  Elizabeth Elliott inspired commitment to Christ no matter the cost. Andrew Murray spoke truth to a proud heart. Joyce Meyers gave me armor. Tim Keller pulled down my idols. I wept as Sheldon Vanauken surrendered his will under God’s severe mercy. Laurie Sharlene Hall spoke the truth about broken marriage vows. Cloud & Townsend drew healthy boundaries. Elizabeth Prentis stepped heavenward. William Young breached the forgiveness barrier. Backus & Chapin taught me how to find the truth. Pia Melody unmasked destructive codependence. Each left indelible truth in mind and heart guiding who I have become.

Books I Have Written:

—Joni Eareckson Tada Her Early Journey 1969-1979, compiler/photographer

—Beginning of the Beginning, non-fiction short story adventures in Africa

—Disability Training of Trainers Manual, two, editor/author

What I'm Working On Now:

Second edition of non-fiction short stories set in Africa as two graying women missionaries (I’m one of them) meet the challenges of twenty years of escapades. Dangerous. Exhilarating. Inspirational. Sidesplitting.
