Why I Started Writing:

I started writing because I found I have a passion for both reading and writing, I suppose. I have read books and news magazines since I was a child and love words.

Authors Who Have Influenced Me:

I love Frank Peretti and C.S. Lewis. I recently read through “Gone with the Wind,” in the unabridged version. Awesome handling of character development.

Ira Wagler is an amazing writer with his blog and now two books. “Growing up Amish,” and “Broken Roads.”

Books I Have Written:

My first attempt at fiction was “A Time to Live,” followed by my first Amish love story, “Sarah.” Both of the titles were self published, which created enough sales to capture the attention of Harvest House. Nick Harrison took me on, and we've published over thirty titles, fiction and nonfiction. A full list is available at www.jerryeicher.com.

What I'm Working On Now:

I am attempting to break into theology, but haven’t had much success. Story is currently my strong suit. I have an unfinished Amish title in the works, and due out this year is “The Amish School Teacher,” one of the funniest and sweetest stories I have written. Also, the final edits for “When Hearts Break,” (a story of an abusive Amish community and the far-reaching effects on the lives of two sisters) have been going on the past few weeks.
