Why I Started Writing:
I began writing at the age of seven with the encouragement of my mom because she claimed my ‘head was always buzzing’ with stories. She and I played a game we called Tell Me A Tale. She’d pick a topic like fairies, a haunted house, or best friends, and I’d create a story to tell her. Being my biggest cheerleader, she encouraged me to start writing these stories in a journal. Over the years as those stories kept buzzing, I continued writing hoping to one day share them with others just as I’d shared my childhood tales with my mom.
Authors Who Have Influenced Me:
As a child and again as an elementary school teacher, I was enchanted by the books of Roald Dahl, C.S. Lewis, and Madeleine L’Engle. The memorable characters and whimsical worlds they created in their novels sparked my own creativity.
Now, as an adult who loves reading mysteries, the books of cozy mystery writers like JoAnne Fluke and Laura Childs inspired me to write my own series for readers of the genre to enjoy.
Books I Have Written:
My first novel is Murdered by the Books. It is Book One in my cozy mystery series. Book Two is also completed.
What I'm Working On Now:
I’m working on the third novel in my cozy mystery series along with a humorous memoir of my thirty-five years as a teacher. Also in progress are three children’s picture books.
