Why I Started Writing:
As a young girl, I viewed my world as a storybook: conversations would replay in my head like dialog as if I were reading straight from a script. The same thing would happen with events, and in my mind, I would automatically see words assemble themselves on a page as if invisible fingers were typing them out.
Often feeling as if I would burst, I began writing things down. As I grew into adulthood, I realized God’s purpose for me was to tell what happened with the church I grew up in. My mission was to show wounded Christians how to discover healing and redemption from their religious traumatic experiences.
Authors Who Have Influenced Me:
Mary Emma Allen is an author and illustrator who mentored me during the writing of my first book which I wrote as a teenager (unpublished). The most valuable lesson she taught me was to “give your reader a reason to turn the page.” Another writer I admire is James Oliver Curwood, author of several Alaskan wilderness adventures full of danger, intrigue, and a little romance.
Books I Have Written:
- The Shaft’s Secret (unpublished juvenile fiction)
- Under Authority
What I'm Working On Now:
I am working with Elk Lake Publishing for my novel Under Authority.
