Why I Started Writing:
One day during my undergraduate studies, my major professor said to the class, “If you want to learn how to think, write.” I took his advice seriously and have never forgotten it. One year later, I started writing. I’ve found this applies as much to crafting fiction as it does to nonfiction. However, since writing fiction full time, I’ve found other reasons why I write. I write to celebrate Paradox, Dilemma, Irony, Desire, Beauty, The Sublime, Meaning, Rhythm, Change, Humanity, Emotion, Longing, Belonging, Regrets, Love, Ambiguity, and more.

What I'm Working On Now:
I am writing a collection of short stories based on the following theme: An aging husband faces the slow unraveling of his wife’s mind as her Parkinson's Disease and Lewy Body Dementia consume the life they once knew. As he grapples with the increasing demands of caregiving, the pressures from family members who think they know what’s best for her, the weight of excruciating dilemmas, and the quiet heartache of watching her slip away, their bond deepens in unexpected ways. From tender moments of companionship to agonizing decisions about her care, each story reveals the quiet courage it takes to navigate a life turned upside down. This collection captures the essence of enduring love, sacrifice, and the delicate balance between holding on and letting go.
I am refining an historical romance—biblical fiction titled “Felicia’s Choice”—getting it ready for critique. Blurb: In ancient Ephesus, a captivating love affair unfolds amidst a backdrop of political turmoil. Two souls from opposing worlds discover a love that transcends rigid boundaries, challenging the dangerous forces that threaten to tear them apart. Felicia, the daughter of a wealthy silversmith, defies societal norms, risking everything to forge her own path, challenging oppressive traditions, and finding her true voice amidst religious and cultural tensions. Across the city, living in a humble tent, Damon, a poor Jewish artist, questions his religious beliefs when confronted by the message of Paulos, a rogue Jewish teacher and tentmaker. Damon risks shunning by his synagogue and economic disaster by following his heart toward Felicia and Paulos. Felicia and Damon are forbidden to have a relationship, but in Ephesus, God performs a miracle, drawing them to faith in Jesus Christ and devotion to each other. (Acts 19 provided the inspiration for this story.)
